Sports has cautiously and slowly started to return at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute (VCI), with two leagues currently underway; Girls’ Volleyball and Boys’ Basketball.
On Wednesday, November 24, the VCI Warriors Senior Boys’ Basketball team lost to École Secondaire Catholique L’Escale by a score of 80-43.
“L’Escale is the heavy favorite by coaches to win the PRSSAA title this year so this was a tough battle right from the start,” said VCI coach Dan Tremblay.
Yoganraj Moniandy lead the way for VCI with 13 points, while Nate Gerow scored 10. The Warriors (0-1) host Russell High School (1-0) this Wednesday December 1 at VCI.
On Tuesday, November 23, VCI held the first Senior Girls’ volleyball tournament of the season, hosting ESCRH, Le Sommet and Le Relais. The Rebels fell in their first match 3-0 vs Le Sommet but bounced back, winning the second match 2-1 vs Le Relais.
