Join in holiday preparation at the Arbor Gallery

Holiday season is fast approaching and the Arbor Gallery team has been restocking the Gift Shop with artwork from local artist/artisan members and will be starting Christmas Popups November 6.

To help people to get a head start on their Christmas shopping, Saturday hours are going to be extended. Doors will open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Saturday, November 6th to closing weekend before Christmas.

Christmas Popups – Sell your art

This year again, the Arbor Gallery Cultural Centre is inviting artists to partake in the 2021 edition of the Christmas Popup Shops event. Starting on November 6, artists and artisans have the opportunity to share, display and sell their wonderful creations.

Popup Shops will be presented on weekends, and tables are available for $25 (members) and $30 (non-members), per day. All transactions are handled by vendors and the gallery does not retain a commission. Only 2 vendors per day – why not coordinate your day with a friend artist/artisan?

New holiday hours – call for volunteers

The Arbor Gallery Cultural Centre is run almost exclusively by volunteers, and the gallery sitting team is no exception. Volunteers spend their afternoon shift in the beautiful setting of the Arbor Gallery and enjoy the peaceful space, or delight in chatting with tourists and local visitors, depending on the days.

“We are so grateful to our volunteers,” states Sylvie Bouchard, board member and gallery volunteer. “Without them we simply could not survive.”

Currently, more than 20 loyal volunteers share monthly shifts. However, with the new hours and Saturdays being more challenging to fill, the Arbor Gallery is now asking community members who love the gallery, and who wish to help out, to step up as Saturday volunteers. The new Saturday schedule will be split into two 3-hour shifts: 10 am to 1 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm.

Final week for the Glen Robertson Show

The wonderful Glen Robertson Artists’ exhibition runs until Sunday October 24. There is still time to come buy that piece you liked so much before all artists and collectors come retrieve their artwork. The gallery will then start preparing for their next show – “Jephcott On and Off the Wall”, by renowned local artist Susan Jephcott. More info on their Facebook page or at www.arborgallery.org
