It’s an exploration of taste, smell and touch during the second annual Savour the Senses virtual event in support of DeafBlind Ontario Foundation on Saturday, October 23.

Guests are invited experience the intertwining flavours of fine chocolate, wine and moonshine, as a chocolatier, sommelier and whiskey maker discuss pairings and more during an intimate, entertaining and informative 90-minute virtual event.

Prior to Savour the Senses, guests will receive a package with three varieties of fine chocolate, two bottles of wine and a moonshine sampler for two via contactless delivery.

“Savour the Senses is a great event to learn how to pair wines, chocolate and food in an unpretentious way,” said Susan Manahan, Director of Development and Communications at DeafBlind Ontario Services. “Because it’s from the comfort of your own home, you don’t need to dress up, book a sitter, or have a designated driver.”

New this year is an online auction, which is live two weeks prior to the event and is open to everyone, not just guests of the virtual event.

Savour the Senses, presented by the Lions Club of Russell, supports DeafBlind Ontario Services, a non-profit organization that provides individuals who are Deaf, hard of hearing, non-verbal and deafblind with an array of services so they can live and thrive within the community.

“Whether you’re an expert looking to increase your knowledge while sampling different wines or someone looking for something unique to do, you’re invited to make a difference in the lives of people we support,” Manahan said.

Savour the Senses takes place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 23. Visit deafblindontario.com for tickets by Oct. 7 or call 1-855-340-3267, ext. 289.
