For the first time in its history, Arbor Gallery Cultural Centre is opening its beautiful space to anyone willing to share their passion – for free!
If you are creative and have been dreaming of sharing your skills and talent with others some day wait no longer! All the gallery asks in exchange is a small donation in the amount you choose.
The Arbor Gallery promotes diversity in the arts. Whether you express your creativity through watercolours, textiles, gardening, drawing, writing, painting, yoga, illustration, doodling, pottery, restoring and repairing antiques, dance, mime, or flower arrangement, now is the time to share your passion with others. Teach others about your approach, or just talk about what you do so that others can be inspired and informed by what you’ve learned. It has never been easier to step out from behind the curtain.
These mini workshops are small, 4-6 people maximum to allow for social distancing; hardly a big audience, and they are only an hour or two long. If you’re feeling a little unsure about asking participants for money, do it for free. The gallery is not going to charge you for the use of the space. It’s there solely as a welcoming place to entertain, converse and share with others. And for those of you who’ve just moved to town, what a great opportunity to get to know the people of Vankleek Hill, and let the community know who you are and what you love doing.
The workshops begin on October 4 and run until mid November. Time slots that are available are Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday afternoons, and evenings (Monday to Friday). Each workshop leader is responsible for their own advertising, registration, pricing, material and clean up. In accordance with Ontario’s Health Legislation, all workshop attendees and leaders will need to provide proof of vaccination/photo ID or recent negative Covid rapid test before attending the workshop.
The space is offered free of charge, all the gallery asks is a donation at the end. If you’re interested in taking advantage of this unique opportunity, please write up your idea and email it to Sylvie at [email protected] . Once your idea has been received and approved, the Arbor Gallery will be happy to help advertise your workshop on our Facebook page.
The deadline for submissions – September 27th , 2021.
