A shortage of materials has led to the closure of a bridge in North Glengarry.
Beginning on Wednesday, August 18, the Macphee Bridge on County Road 10 (Glen Robertson Road) east of Alexandria will be closed. Rehabilitation work was already being done on the bridge, but the shortage of materials means the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry has had to close the bridge until the items become available. According to the counties, the closure could remain in effect for several weeks.
Drivers are advised to follow a detour along county roads 23, 25, and 34.
