Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public’s help in an investigation into an assault in Rockland, which left a youth with serious injuries.

On August 13, 2021, shortly after 10:15 p.m., Russell County OPP officers responded to a 911 call on Mercury Street in Rockland. Officers located a youth with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital by the Prescott-Russell Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The youth’s identity cannot be released in order to protect the victim and cannot be released under terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

The investigation is in its early stages and police do not believe there is a broader risk to public safety as a result of this incident. The Russell County Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.
