This boating season, permits are required for the first time for users of the Chute-à-Blondeau boat launch. Seasonal permits cost $35 and daily permits cost $10.00. Use of the boat launch is limited to East Hawkesbury residents only.
Kirby said the decision to charge for boat launch use resulted from the cost of maintaining the facility. He said out-of-province residents were also making it difficult for township residents to access the boat launch.
“They were taking up the spots of our taxpayers.”
