Speed limit change, stop sign, and business park lot sale approved by La Nation council

The speed limit is changing on a section of road in La Nation.

On May 31, council approved changing the speed limit on Drouin Sideroad to 60 kilometres per hour. The road is in the Séguinbourg neighbourhood near Casselman.

From Route 500, the current speed limit is 50 kilometres per hour. Beginning 600 metres from Route 400, it increases to 80 kilometres per hour.

More new houses have been built in the area in recent years and the Department of Public Works had received requests to reduce the speed limit. The speed limit will now be 60 kilometres per hour for the entire road.

New stop sign in St-Albert

An intersection in St-Albert will finally have a stop sign.

On May 31, La Nation council approved the installation of a stop sign at the corner of Cayer and Albert Ouimet streets.

Director of Public Works Marc Legault said the developer of the residential subdivision in the area had not installed a stop sign.

La Nation municipality has sold another lot in the Innovation Business Park near Limoges.

At the May 31 council meeting, the sale of the lot to a numbered company was approved for $86,175.
