On April 28, 2021 shortly after 11 a.m, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer responded to a stolen purse incident on Main Street in Alexandria at a business.
Investigation revealed that victim left her purse at the location, upon her return to retrieve the purse, it had been removed. Further investigation revealed the culprit had used some funds from within the purse.
On April 28, 2021, a 51-year-old female resident of North Glengarry Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with;
– Fraud Under $5000 – CC Sec. 380(1)(b)
– Theft under $5000 – CC Sec. 334(b)
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 29, 2021.
