On Friday, April 16, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) seized illegal drugs at a residence on Higginson Street in Hawkesbury. The CSCU was assisted by officers from the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment.
Officers seized a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine and Temazepam and other items associated with drug trafficking.
A 55 year-old Hawkesbury man was arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with;
- Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine) – CDSA s.5(2)
- Possession of Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA s.5(2)
- Possession for the purpose of distributing – Cannabis Act s.9(2)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at L’Original Court of Justice on June 2, 2021.
