On April 13 at approximately 2 p.m., Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers attempted to intercept a motocross bike Route 364 in Arundel to perform a Highway Safety Code check. The man on the bike tried to flee towards a nearby bike path but was quickly located by the police when he had hidden his motocross bike under a bridge on Route 364. He was arrested and then taken to the SQ station and remained in custody for a court appearance. The 56-year-old Harrington man could face charges of impaired driving, refusal to provide a breath sample, assaulting an officer, obstructing an officer ‘s work and breach of condition, as he was prohibited from driving a motor vehicle.
According to the SQ further charges under the Québec Highway Safety Code and off-highway vehicles law are expected. The motocross bike was also seized for 30 days.
