On January 13, 2021, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Russell County OPP officers responded to a stolen vehicle complaint on Angele Street in Embrun.

The investigation revealed that the vehicle had been taken without consent. The vehicle stopped, but before the officer reached the vehicle, it was in motion again. The driver was uncooperative with the officer. The vehicle was stopped a few moments later.

As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old, from Embrun was charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Taking a motor vehicle without consent
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Assault with a weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.
