If you are among those who want to volunteer your time or services and don’t know where to start, there is good news for you.

Are you looking for volunteers to help your non-profit organization or for opportunities to get involved in your community as a volunteer? Then register online at VolunteersPR.ca.

Prescott-Russell Volunteers is a new community service project aiming at matching non-profit organizations in need of volunteers with individuals wishing to volunteer their time and skills to a cause. The match is made through an online platform and registration is free, for both non-profits and volunteers.

“Volunteers are the heart and soul of a community. Men, women and youth who volunteer really improve the quality of life in our communities, and this new platform will make things easier for everyone. Volunteers are still much in demand during the pandemic, and many tasks such as phone calls can be performed safely from home. In addition to matching services, we can help non-profits with their COVID-19 protocols to ensure their volunteers’ safety,” says Sylvie Lefebvre, Executive Director of Prescott-Russell Community Services, the agency responsible for the project.

All non-profit organizations working within the Prescott-Russell territory are welcome to join Prescott-Russell Volunteers and post their opportunities online, regardless of their activity sector. Arts and culture; education; amateur sport; environment and agriculture; festivals and events; health, community and social services are just a few examples of the targeted sectors.

As for volunteers, anyone aged 16 or over interested in volunteering for a non-profit organization are welcome to sign up, including students, actively employed people and retirees.
