Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market will be adding two additional markets before the end of the year. The Holiday Markets will be held on Wednesdays – December 23rd and 30th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 79 Derby Avenue, Vankleek Hill.
“The two dates are ideal,” according to Aartje den Boer, president of the market. “A Wednesday evening market allows an opportunity for those who can’t get to the weekly Saturday morning Market a chance to pick up some truly exceptional local fare. The 23rd is close enough to purchase fresh product and baked goods for Christmas and the 30th, for New Year’s!”
“We recommend that if you have your heart set on something in particular, order it in advance to ensure that you get it. You can order in advance now for pick up from vendors at the market and remember, curbside pick-up is also available so you don’t have to go through the market if you don’t want to.” For vendor contact info visit the market’s website.
Den Boer suggests that “even with restrictions on gatherings and visiting over the holiday season, traditions are important and we can still make it festive and special. If you can’t get together with family and friends, consider dropping off a sampling of holiday treats that you typically share over the holidays. If you can’t be with them, share with them a gift of quality food, produced locally.”
