The Prescott and Russell entrepreneurial community is pleased to announce the programming for the 12th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), to be held from November 16 to 22, 2020.
The objective of the GEW is to promote the creative spirit and drive innovation through activities aimed at enabling entrepreneurs to interact with potential collaborators, mentors and investors. This year, the Prescott and Russell organizing committee is offering a virtual program, free of charge. Participants can consult the calendar of the week’s activities included below and click on the session link at the designated time to participate.
“As an entrepreneur, I recognize the importance of holding events that are designed to generate new ideas and facilitate networking, especially in these unprecedented times. I encourage all entrepreneurs in the region to participate,” explained Mark Kelly, President of KB Media Corp. and Director of the Prescott-Russell Chamber of Commerce.
The organization of the Prescott and Russell GEW 2020 edition is made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Prescott and Russell business community, and more specifically: the Prescott and Russell Economic Development and Tourism, the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien, the Prescott-Russell Employment Services Centre, the Prescott and Russell Entrepreneuship Centre, the Société économique de l’Ontario, the Prescott-Russell Chamber of Commerce, La Cité collégiale, the Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network, Tourisme Prescott-Russell Tourism, and the Union des cultivateurs franco-ontariens.
“The Prescott-Russell Employment Services Centre is proud to offer two conferences on the themes of adapting to change and cultural diversity. These topics are of key importance for our regional employers who support our economy through innovation and also by their resilience through the current pandemic,” added Caroline Arcand, Director of the Prescott-Russell Employment Services Centre.
Among other things, GEW participants will benefit from an interactive workshop about the most effective business networking techniques, hosted by the Société économique de l’Ontario. Also, bilingual training sessions on online sales and best practices to counter the effects of COVID-19 on business will be offered by the Prescott and Russell Entrepreneurship Centre.
“Due to the strong involvement of our community partners, of which we are very proud, the programming will be extremely diversified. This is a must-attend event for all types of entrepreneurial projects,” stated Carole Lavigne, Director of Economic Development and Tourism for the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.
