Silent bidding is set to begin this week on Thursday, October 8th for SNC’s Art for Trees online silent art auction.

The auction will be taking place entirely online at The silent bidding period will be open from October 8th to the 29th. People are encouraged to visit the auction webpage before bidding opens to pre-register and view all available artwork, photography, and crafts.

Over 30 items have been graciously donated by renowned local artists, photographers, and artisans; and they all share a common theme: the environment. Professional appraisals have also been provided by Cailuan Gallery of Cornwall.

All funds raised are going towards helping SNC reach its milestone goal of planting 200,000 trees next spring.

Since 1990, SNC has planted more than 3.4 million trees across its watershed jurisdiction in Eastern Ontario thanks to community and municipal partnerships and fundraising initiatives. The most trees ever planted by SNC in a single year was 190,000 in 1993.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SNC’s planned fundraising events to help reach this milestone goal were cancelled (including the annual Friends of SNC Golf Tournament).

Private artwork viewings may be scheduled at SNC’s office in Finch by appointment only.
