The Vankleek Hill and District Lions Club donated $3500 to Champlain Township to refurbish the gazebo located at Mill Street Park. The gazebo was originally donated by the late Phil Arber. The funds were used to replace the roof and flooring, to clad the ceiling with pine and resupport the structure with larger posts. Benches were also added. The project was completed by municipal staff.
“The Township of Champlain is very grateful for this donation and hopes that this space encourages more events to take place at Mill Street Park. Partnerships like these are important to a municipality where otherwise, budgets don’t always allow for such beautification projects. This is a perfect example of a community working together towards a common vision’’ said Lisa Burroughs, Director of Parks and Recreation.
