For the last five years, libraries and schools have virtually come together each September 18 to celebrate the joys of digital reading on Read an Ebook Day. This year has been extremely unique, but thanks to OverDrive, library patrons of the Champlain Library can continue to read ebooks. Digital circulation has increased substantially and that calls for a celebration.
Throughout the day, OverDrive will be posting fun facts about digital reading on social media and sharing what everyone is reading. Readers can use the hashtag #ebookLove to tell the world what ebook they’re enjoying for a chance to win free Libby apparel from shop.overdrive.com. Anyone who uses the hashtag is entered to win.
Digital reading has become an essential part of life, especially during this time of social distancing.
Take this day to celebrate the fact that library patrons always have access to many books from the library. #EbookLove is just a tap away.
Don’t have a library card yet? Don’t fret. September is Library card sign-up month and everyone who signs up for a new library card will have their name entered into a draw for a chance to win a prize pack from the Champlain Library. Although the Library is currently closed to the public except for curbside pickup, patrons can fill out a membership form on the website. For more information on Ebook Day or how to obtain a library card from the Library, visit bc-cl.ca or call 613-678-2216.
