Innovation and adaptation are the name of the game right now.
And this new event encapsulates both notions. The Piano on the Street / le piano de la rue is a mini-concert series taking place in Vankleek Hill from September 13 to October 11, 2020; the outdoor concerts will take place from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kicking off the series will be well-known jazz pianist Didier Chasteau, who will be playing at the Vankleek Hill Creating Centre this Sunday, September 13, from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The mini-concerts are free for everyone who wishes to listen. The Creating Centre folks say they want to bring music to the village and inspire musicians to share their love of music.
People are invited to gather round, while distancing outside for the half-hour performances.
The event will take place rain or shine, unless extreme conditions prevent instrumentation.
Local jazz singer and pianist Janie Renée Myner will be performing on Sunday, September 20, from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
