The Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment will be on the move in a few weeks. According to Acting Inspector Marc Hemmerick, the Acting Detachment Commander, the new building on Cameron Street near Highway 17 is nearly complete and he is expecting that the police will move into the facility in mid-September. Hemmerick said no plans have yet been announced for an official opening for the new station due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The new facility has a price tag of about $20 million and will replace the existing station on on Cartier Boulevard. That location served previously as the station for Hawkesbury’s former municipal police service.
