Québec Deputy Premier says all residents with symptoms should be tested for COVID-19

Québec’s Deputy Premier has is encouraging all residents who have symptoms of COVID-19 to get tested.

Geneviève Guilbault, who is also Minister of Public Security, said that the target of 14,000 tests per day set by the public health authorities has still not been reached. She nevertheless clarified that Québec remains the place where the largest number of per capita tests is done in Canada and that it occupies a more than enviable position in this regard worldwide.

The Deputy Premier appealed to the public;” Obviously, we will not be satisfied until we reach our target of 14,000 tests per day, on a regular basis. And, we need the collaboration of Quebecers. If you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, you are asked to go for a test. It is very important to do it, no matter where you live. The more people that will be tested, the more we will know the situation on the ground,” said Guilbault.
