Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers from MRC d’Argenteuil were conducting checks during the long weekend and more than 105 infractions were recorded — primarily for excessive speeding but also — seven of these were for those not wearing their seatbelts and two infractions were for using a cellular phone while driving. Twenty-seven motorcyclists were fined for excessive speed, loud mufflers and illegal passing.

The SQ says that citizens and elected officials from the MRC d’Argenteuil have told them that motoricyclists in general have not been following traffic regulations and that lead to the SQ initiating a strategie for the duration of the summer. Two persons were also charged with impaired driving.
