The Champlain Library is pleased to announce that it is now offering no-contact curbside pickup of library materials as of May 20th. The service will be available Tuesday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Deliveries to home-bound individuals can also be arranged upon request.

Patrons can reserve items on their card by viewing the online catalogue on the library’s website at bc-cl.ca, by emailing their requests at [email protected], or by calling the library at 613-678-2216 if access to the internet is not possible.

Once the item(s) are ready for pickup, a staff member will contact you to arrange a specific pick-up time. At the confirmed time, drive up to the curb and call the library to confirm your presence. It is important to remain in your vehicle. Patrons must show their library card and a staff member will either put the library item(s) in the trunk or leave them on the ledge outside.

The outdoor book drop is also open for book returns. Any items that are returned will be quarantined for 72 hours and safely cleaned before re-loaning to patrons. Don’t be concerned if an item is returned and is not removed from your account for a few days.

The Champlain Library values the safety of its community members and staff and thanks you for your patience during this trying time, and hopes that this service will make things a little easier for its patrons. “We look forward to being able to serve the community in whatever way we can, as safely as possible.” says CEO Cynthia Martin.
