Centraide (United Way) Laurentides is accepting funding requests for the Emergency Community Support Fund. This fund provides financial support to charities and other qualified recipients who adapt their front-line services to support vulnerable communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund was announced by the Government of Canada and is administered in collaboration with the United Way-Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross.
Centraide Laurentides is proud to support this significant investment of $ 1,445,000 for the region for the benefit of our communities. Through the fund, Centreaide will provide much-needed funding to qualified recipients who work in our community. With their efforts and the financial support of this program funded by the Government of Canada, Centreaide will strive to ensure that no one is left behind.
“Charities and nonprofits are always there to help you when you need them. The COVID-19 pandemic creates real challenges for these important organizations. With today’s announcement, the Government of Canada will be there for them so they can continue to be there for Canadians,” said Ahmed Hussen, the federal Minister of Families, Children and Social Development.
Community organizations are encouraged to apply for funding to support their work through the Emergency Fund for Community Support. Interested organizations are invited to visit the Centraide Laurentides website to find out the procedure for applying for financial assistance from this Fund funded by the Government of Canada.
