OPP recover body from the Ottawa River

-On April 4, 2020 at approximately 11:15 a.m., members of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a deceased person located along the shores of the Ottawa River in L’Orignal, in the Champlain Township.

The body of a deceased adult female was removed from the river and transported to Ottawa Hospital for a post mortem examination.

The OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FISU), and the Office of the Chief Coroner will continue the investigation with the assistance of the Hawkesbury OPP Crime unit.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and an update will be issued when accurate and confirmed information becomes available.
