Glengarry Artists’ Collective’s 4th annual Show at Brent’s Place showcased the myriad talents of local artists. The two-day show filled the reception areas of Glengarry Funeral Home in Alexandria with around 150 lively works of art, including painting, sculpture, photography, metalwork, pottery, wood carving, and short pieces of writing. At least 400 attendees enjoyed the free event, which included music and a wine and cheese reception Friday evening, and coffee and a chance to chat with the artists Saturday morning.  The Collective hosts several shows each year, with The Show at Brent’s Place being the largest. This year, artists were challenged to create self-portraits for the show and several dozen self-portraits filled one room. As in previous years, guest artists from Community Living exhibited artwork in the show; Collective president Bobi Leutschaft Poitras is their instructor. Ten percent of designated art sales at the show were donated to Community Living.
