Champlain Library receives accreditation

Champlain Library has met the criteria for accreditation again in 2019. The Guidelines Program was established by the public library community to recognize excellence in library service. An accredited library not only demonstrates that it meets provincial standards of efficiency and service levels, it also acts as a leader in raising the level of public library service across the province.

The accreditation indicates that the library has met or surpassed over 100 guidelines dealing with policy, planning, resources and services. The Champlain Library received the provincial accreditation with a score of 96.7%! In total, seven libraries in Ontario were awarded accreditation in 2019. Cynthia Martin, library CEO (left in photo) recently received the certificate during a gala event at the Ontario Library Association conference in Toronto. Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries (right in photo) presented the award.
