Two arrested in Lachute murder case

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has made two arrests in connection with a murder that took place early on January 20 in Lachute.

The two 18-year-old suspects who were scheduled to appear in court in St-Jérôme on Thursday.  The exact charges they were to face had not yet been determined.

A man in his 20’s was pronounced dead in hospital and a man in his 50’s was sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries following the incident, which occurred at an apartment on Lafleur Street.

The SQ has also conducted three other searches since the start of the investigation and has found that an attack on Rue Paul-Émile Barbeau in Lachute earlier on Sunday night was linked to the murder on Rue Lafleur.

More arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
