NOTICE OF A COMPLETE
APPLICATION AND OF A PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A
PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

Take notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Champlain received a complete application and will hold a Public Meeting on the 12th day of February 2020, at 7:00 p.m., at the Township Office, 948 Pleasant Corner Road East, to consider a proposed amendment to the Zoning By-law No. 2000-75 of the Township of Champlain under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended.

The zoning by-law amendment affects lands located at 52 Wharf Street known as Lot 1 and Lot 2, Plan 15 and having the Roll Number 0209.008.001.11500, in the former Township of L’Orignal, now in the Township of Champlain, as shown on the Key Map. The subject site is within the ‘Village Core’ Policy Area in the Official Plan for the Township of Champlain. The subject site is located within the ‘Urban Policy Area’ of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell Official Plan (UCPR).

The zoning by-law amendment proposes to change the zoning category for the property located at 52 Wharf Street, from “Commercial Core Special Exception Zone” (CC-5) to “Commercial Core General Zone” (CC). The applicant has requested this zoning amendment in order to allow a number of commercial uses including a restaurant which are compatible with the historic village core of l’Orignal.
