Dalkeith…Plus’s inviting space welcomed a group of people Saturday, November 9 to celebrate the library’s three years of operation. North Glengarry’s deputy mayor, Carma Williams, cut the celebratory cake to mark the occasion. Three dozen people attended the potluck lunch, including Mayor Jamie MacDonald, councillors Jeff Manley and Brenda Noble, and Glengarry-Prescott-Russell MP Francis Drouin. Special guest “Aunt” Susan Dewar of Ottawa was honoured during the event. Dewar holds a Master of Library Services degree and was the Head of Cataloguing at Statistics Canada. She has catalogued the majority of the library’s 7000-book collection over the past three years, as well as providing advice to the library’s volunteer board. Since its opening in 2016, Dalkeith…Plus and its volunteers have provided library services and a host of community events to the Dalkeith area.
