The 12th edition of the Foire de Noël Saveurs et culture d’Argenteuil takes place from November 29 to December 1. This festival highlights the products and talents of artists, artisans, food producers and transformers in the region. More than 55 exhibitors will be set up in the École polyvalente Lavigne and at the Laurentian Regional High School at 452 avenue Argenteuil in Lachute.
The Foire de Noël is open on Friday, November 29, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturday, November 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. andn on Sunday, December 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. As in previous years, admission is free.
A play and craft corner for kids will be organized by the Maison de la famille on Saturday and Sunday. Hémiole choir will be on site on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Draws for gift certificates will take place throughout the event. In addition a space to stop and enjoy a coffee will be available to visitors, who can also enjoy lunch. Visitors are encouraged to bring cash to this event. Some exhibitors may be able to accept electronic payment. Note that there will be an ATM on site at the event.
Some new exhibitors will be part of this 12th edition of the event. Boeuf du chemin de l’île-aux-Chats (a new beef producer in the region), Huilerie Koura (olive producer and olive products), Elixir beard cave (oils and balms for beard care), Mousse et frimousse (producer of artisan soups), Audrey Lamontagne (artist/painter), Decors Artisfactra (painter/artist and decorative and useful items), France Albert (weaving), Signé Rosa (shawls and scarves), Marielle Thibodeau et Lucien Legault (painter/artist and cabinetmaker), Éditions Lo-Ély (new publishing house in Lachute) and Jean-Jacques Pharand (well-known artist-painter, he will be present with his new collection of poetry) will be present.
There will also be a kiosque offering works by renowned painter Jean-Claude Lecorre, who passed away in the fall of 2017. This kiosque will be hosted by his children. Other artists who participated previously will be back with new works.
Artists and artisans will be on hand with jewellery, clothing, handbags, fashion accessories, decorative objects, ceramics, hand-made wood products, glassware, pictures, sculpture and cabinetry. Six authors, including two youth authors, will be on site to present their books. On the food side, visitors will be tempted by locally-produced cheeses, chocolats, pastries, meats, spices, black garlic, black currant products, honey, maple syrup and much more! Plant extracts, syrups, oils, balms and soaps will also be part of what is offered by local artisans.
The MRC d’Argenteuil organizes this event to focus on local growers, producers and artisans. It acknowledges the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fishers (Quebec) and thanks the City of Lachute and the two schools for their support.
