Suspect charged in connection with stabbing at Front Road residence

On July 15, 2019, shortly after midnight, members of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported stabbing incident at a Front Road residence in Champlain Township.

A victim, found at the scene, was transported to hospital by the United Counties of Prescott-Russell Paramedic Services with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A suspect was later located and arrested by officers.  As a result of the investigation,  a 32-year-old Hawkesbury woman was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

– Aggravated Assault (CC 268)

-Fail to comply with a probation order (CC 733.1(1)) – four counts

The accused was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal for a Bail Hearing on July 15, 2019.

The matter is still under investigation.
