During the week of May 6, 2019 through to May 12, 2019, officers with the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 267 calls for service. The calls for service included:

Male charged with assault with a weapon

On May 8, 2019 shortly after 7:00 p.m., a Russell County OPP officer responded to a disturbance on Mayer Street in Limoges, Ontario.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between two adult males.

As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old Limoges man was charged with:

• Assault with a Weapon CC 267(a) and

• Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose CC 88

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on June 12, 2019.

Male charged with assault a peace officer

On May 11, 2019 at approximately 6:15 p.m., Russell County OPP officers responded to a mischief complaint on Drouin Road in the City of Clarence-Rockland, Ontario.

The investigation revealed that a male pedestrian caused minor damage to a passing vehicle’s windshield. The officers apprehended a male after he attempted to flee.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old man from The Nation Municipality was charged with:

• Assault a Peace Officer CC 270(1)(a);

• Resist Peace Officer CC 129(a);

• Flight from peace officer CC 320.17 and

• Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm CC 264.1(1)(a)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on June 5, 2019.

Male charged with assault with a weapon

On May 11, 2019 shortly after 8:30 p.m., Russell County OPP officers responded to a disturbance on Champlain Street in Bourget, Ontario.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between three family members.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old male, from Bourget, Ontario was charged with:

• Assault with a Weapon CC 267(a);

• Fail to Comply with Recognizance CC 145(3) (Two Counts) and

• Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm CC 264.1(1)(a) (Two Counts)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on June 5, 2019.
