To The Editor,

I am writing this in the hope that the lights in the small park beside the post office which were installed last fall can still be changed. The four foot pillars of black pipe with a brilliant white light on top might be appropriate in an industrial park, but they look totally out of place on Main St.  If there is any desire on the part of the municipality to maintain the nineteenth century appearance and historic feel Vankleek Hill’s Main St. these lights need to be changed for something more suited to the existing ambiance. Perhaps some reproductions of Victorian street lamps, or lights with a more antique appearance could replace these.  Almost any lights would be a better choice than the existing ones.

I encourage you to contact a municipal councillor to get involved or express your views.
