Officers from the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a robbery at a local fast food restaurant.

Officers responded to a restaurant on McGill Street in Hawkesbury, Ontario at approximately 12:00 p.m. on March 10, 2019.  A male had demanded cash from the clerk and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Officers arrested a suspect a short time later in the area.

A 20-year-old Hawkesbury man has been charged with robbery. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on March 18, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal.
