A Fall Volunteer Fair will take place at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute on Thursday, October 18, 2018. The Volunteer Fair will run from 12 noon to 5 p.m., allowing students the opportunity to visit the booths themselves and it will continue until 5 p.m. so that parents at the school to meet with teachers for progress reports, also have the option of visiting the Volunteer Fair with their teenagers.
Organizations are invited to attend the event. There is no fee to participate; all that is required is for organizations to be at their table to talk to high school students who approach the table for information about what it would be like to volunteer with an organization. Participants can interview students and at the same time, students can sign up to volunteer within an organization if they are interested. Organizations can then use this contact information for different events throughout the year where student volunteers might be needed.
Please contact Corina Parisien as soon as possible if your organization is interested in attending. The school will be providing the chairs, tables and sign-up sheets. The students range from grade 9 to 12.
