Man loses life in Rockland fire

On Friday, March 16, 2018 at approximately 6:25 a.m., the Rockland Fire Department, Prescott-Russell Emergency Services and Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire on Caron Street in Rockland.

The fire broke out in a detached garage and resulted in one fatality. Paul SARAZIN, 60 years of age, of Rockland was found deceased at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown but foul play is not suspected.

The Russell County OPP Crime Unit , OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU), Coroner and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal assisted in the investigation, which is continuing.
