The Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) announced recently that there will be more than 1150 positions available at its annual job fair. Again this year, visitors participating in the event who are looking for work will have the opportunity to find permanent, temporary, part-time and even summer employment.
The event will be held March 17 at École secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury (ÉSCRH) and March 24 at the River Rock Inn in Rockland, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both locations. There is free admission at both locations.
“We are certainly very pleased to offer our community so many positions in such a wide variety of sectors and fields,” said André Roy, Executive Director of the Employment Services Centre.
“Somehow, this figure confirms the need for all types of labor in our region, and we invite the Prescott-Russell population, but also that of surrounding areas, to come in large numbers to meet with employers taking part in the event. All positions offered by participating employers are listed on the Job Fair website. But, in addition to the positions indicated on the site, one should remember that many employers present also collect résumés for positions to be filled during the year. Thus, visitors interested in specific companies should give them their résumés when attending, even if a position in their field is not available. One never knows what the future holds,” added Roy.
Several sectors are represented at the CSEPR Job Fair this year, including manufacturing, sales and customer service, construction, finance, education, health care and government. As for positions available, they are diversified and include recruiting of Correctional Agents and Probation Parole Officers, Policemen, Nurses, Personal Support Workers, Teachers, Educators and Assistant Educators. On the professional level, positions include Financial Advisors, Salespersons, Customer Service Representatives, Managers of Clinical Practice, Administrative Assistants and Secretaries. Obviously, specialized trades are also needed with the search for different types of Technicians (Gas, Forestry, Industrial Engineering, Quality Control, etc.), Mechanics, Millwrights, Carpenters, Welders, Metal Fabricators, and more. Broader positions include Clerks and General Workers, Operators as well as Laborers.
All jobs offered at the CSEPR Job Fair can be seen on the employer cards located on the fair’s website at csepr.ca/foire-emploi. Simply click on the employer logo to see a brief description of the company including the positions offered. The event will be held March 17 at École secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury (ÉSCRH) and March 24 at the River Rock Inn in Rockland, from 9 AM to 2 PM at both locations. Admission is free at both events.
