Saturday evening the Vankleek Hill Jr Cougars hosted the Clarence Castors. Clarence was first on the board before Ryan Allen scored to tie it up. Clarence scored again to take the lead and 45 seconds later Nikolas Ayotte with the help of Trystan Lavoie tied it up again. The Cougars went ahead in the second period on a goal by Tyler Dopelhamer. Brendan Rowe scored in the third, but the Castors were able to get four goals past the Cougar netminders to take the win by a score of 6-4.
Sunday evening saw the Cougars in St Isidore. Tyler Druce got the scoring started on a nice feed by Riley Sauve just two minutes into the game. The Eagles took command of the second period scoring three goals before Charles-Olivier Portelance was able to get one past the St Isidore netminder. The teams traded goals with Nickolas Ayotte getting the Cougars third goal which was assisted by Ryan Allen and Trystan Lavoie. St Isidore scored with twelve seconds left in the third to win 5-3.
This Saturday, December 16 will be the last game before the Christmas break when the Bytown Royals come to Vankleek Hill. The puck drop will be at 7:30.
