On Saturday, June 24th from 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m., Arbor Gallery Cultural Centre will be hosting a workshop demonstrating the age-old process of transforming fleece, fresh from the sheep to something usable.
The workshop will cost $15 to attend, part of which will be used to help pay for materials. Participation is capped at 12 people and those interested must sign up in advance.
Presented by members of the Twistle Guild of Glengarry, the workshop will guide participants through the stages of transforming dirty fleece to a finished product ready for knitting, weaving, or felting.
Participants will learn about the process and take home a drop spindle with yarn they will spin themselves, extra fibre to practice with at home, and soap which has been covered in felted wool.
To register, contact the gallery at: 613-518-2787.
