On Friday, August 25, MP Francis Drouin will be hosting the second annual United Way/Centraide Prescott-Russell charity Golf Tournament “fore kids” at the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club. The fundraiser is part of an annual campaign to raise funds for local programs.

The event is described as non-partisan, and all are welcome to attend. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with play starting at 9 a.m. in shotgun format. The entry fee is $125 per person or $500 for a foursome and includes continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments, golf, and cart.

Participants will be able to enter various competitions held in conjunction with the tournament for prizes, including hole-in-one, longest drive, and closest to the pin contests. Following the tournament, there will be a brief awards ceremony and recognition lunch.

This year, the committee aims to raise $15,000. All funds raised will support the United Way Prescott-Russell funding priority “all that kids can be,” which focuses on improving access to early childhood learning, after-school physical activity and literacy development. The event will also seek to highlight local businesses and talent.
