Police believe suspects were firing at the wrong target in an April 7 incident in Champlain Township.

The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirms that shots were fired at a residence on Sainte-Anne Road in Champlain Township during the night of April 7, between 11:15 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.

Police believe the suspects went to the wrong address and the residence was not the intended target. 

There were no injuries as a result of the shooting. This was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety at this time.

Officers are asking witnesses or anyone who might have surveillance camera footage along Ste-Anne Road, between County Road 17 and Charbonneau Road during the time of the incident, to immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
