A 20-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with stunt driving on Highway 417.

On September 9, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Russell County OPP detachment commander was travelling eastbound on Highway 417 near the McCrimmon exit. The officer observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive rate of speed behind him and obtained a speed reading of 209 km/h.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old male, from Ottawa, Ontario was charged with:

  • Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed HTA 172(1)

The accused received a seven-day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
