From improved mental health\, communication and social engagement\, art is a transformative tool which can enhance one’s overall well-being. Explore the therapeutic benefits of painting with Laurentian artist Carol Lyng in this 50 min workshop entitled: Fall – Under an Oak Tree. Participants MUST arrive by 8:50 AM.\nCarol Lyng found her passion for art at a very young age. Pulling inspiration from nature’s beauty\, she is an accomplished designer\, painter\, stained glass artisan and so much more. After 30 years as a successful graphic designer\, Carol is now fulfilling a life long dream of facilitating a wide array of creative workshops for all ages. These workshops promote a relaxing atmosphere where Carol guides participants to discover creative talent within themselves that they did not know was there.  ADULT AUDIENCE\n\n\n\n10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Autism/Asperger & Healthy Sexuality presented by Dr. Isabelle Henault (Sponsored by AAL)\n\nRecent years have seen rapid development of interventions for ASD & AS. However\, there are very few programs that address interpersonal relationships and sexuality. This presentation will elaborate on strategies to improve the social and sexual education of adolescents with ASD. Adapted sex education material will be presented\, such as case illustrations and examples.\nDr. Isabelle Hénault\, is a psychologist from the University of Québec at Montréal\, Canada and director of the Autism & Asperger Clinic of Montreal. Dr. Hénault is a leading figure in the field of adolescence with ASD-AS and has developed a Relationship and Sex Education Program. She is presently collaborating on numerous international research initiatives involving socio-sexual education and interpersonal relationships. ADULT AUDIENCE.\n\n\n\n12:00 – 12:25 PM (Session 1) & 12:45 – 1:10 PM (Session 2)  Drum Circle with William Laurin   (Sponsored by AAL)\n\nNumerous studies have shown drumming to have many positive effects on one’s health by reducing stress\, fatigue and anxiety\, and improving social resilience. Drum circles allow participants to get in tune with themselves and others\, bringing communities together. Experience a 25 min drum circle with professional facilitator William Laurin (Soundvibe Circles). Adult and child audience.\nWilliam Laurin has been an active touring drummer and educator for over 15 years. He readily instructs clients\, performs for audiences in many countries and facilitates empowering drum circles. William is currently performing with the JW-Jones Band and his original project called Rude Mood. The teenage years\, as emerging adults strive for independence\, are jam-packed with joys and challenges. During adolescence\, kids need their parents more than ever.
