STEVENSON, Elizabeth Jean (Betty) (nee Mooney)

“Warm at last“ on Monday, October 24th, 2016 at the St. Catharines Hospital in her 91st year. Born October 15th, 1926 in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. Survived by her son Michael (Nancy). Predeceased by her husband Capt. Robert Alan (Louis) Stevenson and by her son John, parents David and Hannah, brothers Jack, Ferris and Edgar and sister Mary. Survived by her sister-in-law Margaret (Ed), niece Sheila and nephew David (Emily and daughter Clara). Betty was a 50 year member of Beta Sigma Phi and a graduate nurse “class of 51” at the Montreal General Hospital. Betty was an avid horse lover and a Toronto Blue Jays fan. Her favourite game was Jeopardy. Special thanks to the St. Catharines Hospital doctors, Dr. Rabin and nurses, and all the staff at The Heatherwood Retirement Residence. The Celebration of Betty’s life will be held at the HAINE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Tuesday, November 1st from 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (24 Clairmont Street, Thorold) on Wednesday, November 2nd at 11:00am. NO flowers please, in lieu, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
