Smith, Guy I.

GUY I. SMITH – Born Lachute, Quebec 1927 died Hawkesbury, Ontario on March 23, 2018 in his 91st year. Loving son of the late Alexander Murray Smith & Elizabeth Walker Goodfellow Smith. Predeceased by his son Scott Alexander Smith, and his brother J.A. Harland Smith. He is survived by his beloved Janine, great grand daughter Lainey, grand daughter Patti (Dan), daughter Gloria (Jim), and Gloria’s mother Muriel James. Guy will be missed by his Bruneau extended family, as well numerous cousins, nieces, nephews … and of course friends. Guy spent his life in Lachute, dedicated to volunteering for the betterment of the community. His passion was growing roses, travel, the Smith Family Tree, and local history. He was always ready to make connections around the globe with others seeking out Argenteuil history or ancestors. Guy’s passing was peaceful after a short illness. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hawkesbury General Hospital Emergency Team, those on East Wing 2nd Floor, especially Dr Matthew Teetaert, Dr Michael Procino, Nurse Martin Gareau, Monique Leduc, and all who cared for him with great compassion. Guy loved life. Let us mourn his passing, but above all rejoice in the amazing joy he found in life, and shared with all. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 14th, 11 AM at Mozart Desforges Funeral Complex, 331 Bethany Ave, Lachute. Funeral immediately following at 2 PM at the Margaret Rodger Memorial Presbyterian Church, Lachute. Interment at a later date.
