There are so many people to thank when a family deals with the loss of a loved one. Garth was a son, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend to so many. Thank you to Pastor Steven for officiating such a beautiful service and Celebration of Life for Garth. It was made even more special as you and your family were both Garth’s neighbours and friends. To Brent, Bernard and the entire staff at Lamarche & Hill Funeral Home, thank you for the care, guidance and professional service you provided to our family. To Isabelle & Louis, owners of the Oasis RV Resort, thank you for hosting us and for always having a seat for Garth at the bar. To Reid and his band, thank you so much for the music you played. Listening to live music and knowing these were some of Garth’s favourite songs was a very happy part of a very sad day. And to Jevon, thank you for singing the beautiful songs and I so wish we could have one more day with Garth and that he had made it to your show. We would like to thank Alain at Traiteur Viau Catering for providing such a delicious lunch at the Oasis. Thank you to Barry for sharing your heart warming stories about life on your street and having Garth as a neighbour. And thank you to Ryan and Barry for driving us to Ottawa so that we could catch our early morning flights home the next day. The words thank you are not nearly enough for what John and Josee did for Garth and our entire family. John wrote the obituary and delivered the Eulogy at the service. Garth would be humbled and honoured by the words you wrote and spoke. John and Josee planned the funeral together and from a distance guided us through this process. Josee added her special touch from the pillow she made, the hearts with Garth’s initials, the book marks, the candles and the seeds; these are all mementos that we will cherish forever. And Josee, the words you spoke at the Oasis were from the heart and were a beautiful tribute to Garth and we will remember them always. And finally, thank you to everyone who reached out to us in Embrun, who came to the Celebration of Life and visited with us at the Oasis. It was such a pleasure meeting all of you and you truly were a second family to Garth and he was so lucky to have all of you in his life. We are forever grateful for everything that everyone has done.
