Ryan, Roxanne

Roxanne Ryan, nee Lalonde, of Fournier, Ontario passed away peacefully on March 18, 2020, early in the COVID-19 Pandemic. She was 52 years old. Beloved wife of Howard Ryan. Dear daughter of Laurent Lalonde and Pauline Lemery of Bourget, Ontario. Loving mother of Miguel Lalonde (Liliane Chatelain) of Fournier. Also survived by her sister Crystine (Luc Guindon), her grandmother Yvette (late Leo-Paul Lemery), her niece Milaine Jobin and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Roxanne will be greatly missed by cherished friends, Sebastian and Alison Delorme and their three children: Sam, Ellie and Will. Roxanne will also be fondly remembered by many friends, former G. of C. work colleagues and supportive neighbours. Current conditions did not allow a traditional funeral. Roxanne’s immediate family participated in a funeral on May 29, 2020 at St. Bernard Church, Fournier. Roxanne has been buried in the Ryan family plot in the Parish Cemetery. Roxanne will be remembered as a friendly, fun loving, creative, energetic lady who showed great courage and strength as she dealt with her terminal cancer. So many can be credited for their outstanding work so that Roxanne could enjoy many years of travel, community projects and the love of her family. The Ottawa Regional Cancer Center cared for Roxanne initially in 1996 for her Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and supported her through her Breast Cancer journey from 2012 until her death. She benefited from the seamless regional healthcare partnerships and was able to have her blood tests drawn at St Isidore, her chemotherapy in Hawkesbury and her home care provided by Bayshore. Special thanks to Emmanuelle Brunet and Roxanne’s family doctor, Dr Miron. When Roxanne was no longer able to speak for herself Howard became her voice and tenderly cared for her and worked with the Palliative Care staff at the Hawkesbury & District General Hospital to ensure she was comfortable.
