It is with sadness that we wish to announce the peaceful passing of Wilfred Harrigan, on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the age of 86. Son of the late Voila and Leslie Harrigan of Pendleton, Ontario. He leaves his cherished wife of 55 years, Anita (née Picard) and loving children Kathleen and Brian (Maureen). Predeceased by his brothers Chester (late Hazel), Aylwin (late Marty) and Hubert (late Ruth). He is survived by his sister Una (late Dave). Proud grandfather of Maria, Clara and Thomas. He will also be missed by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Wilfred went to work for 45 years in Montreal at Northern Electric (Nortel). He served in the office union for 24 years, 14 of them as president. He was always proud of his service in the 1950s with 401 City of Westmount Fighter Squadron. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lyne Arsenault and Dr. Julie Maranda as well as the nurses and staff at Hawkesbury and District General Hospital for their compassionate care. Friends and relatives may visit Lamarre & Son Funeral Home, 453 St. Philippe St., Alfred, Ontario, 613-679-2802, on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Funeral Service to be held the same day at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Divine Love Church, Pendleton, Ontario. In memory of Wilfred, donations may be made to Our Lady of Divine Love Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 2084 Concession 10, Curran, Ontario, K0B 1C0. A gathering of friends and relatives will be held after the funeral service at Plantagenet Community Hall.
