It is with saddened hearts that we announce the death of Gary Crooks, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and devoted husband. He passed away in hospital on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the age of 85 and was guided to Heaven by a rare double rainbow that appeared in the sky signifying his transition from the material world to the spiritual world. He will be forever treasured by his wife Eileen “Dee Dee” (nee MacIntyre), his son Jeffrey (Lucie Nezan), and his daughters, Lorelei (Maurice St. Pierre) and Leilani (Chris Paswisty). Grandpa Crooks will always be cherished and remain forever in the hearts of his grandchildren, Zackery, Austin, Gary (Lisa Lecappelain), Curtis (Rae-Anne Lanningan), Tanika (Randy MacKinnon), Bradley (Paige Lee), and Brittany (Soham Chakrabarti). Forever be missed by his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kerrigan, Leni and Gavin. Dearly missed by his surviving siblings, Grant (Alice Keen) and Linda Bennett. He is predeceased by his sister Mavis (Gerhardt Neilsen) and his brother Wayne (Marlene Hebert). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Gary Crooks was the most reliable, honest, pleasant and hardworking man that God ever created, and he will be sadly missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to have known him.
A Private Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held on Friday, October 9,2020 at 11 am at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club. Due to the current restrictions the service will be limited to the immediate family only.
